Damien Skeete has been elected president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) for the 2025-2026 period.

His selection came at a Council meeting after ICAB’s 51st Annual General Meeting on Thursday. Members voted either in person at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre or online.

Skeete, an Assurance Partner at Skeete Best & Co, has over 15 years of experience across sectors such as hospitality, international business, public services, manufacturing, retail, and non-profit organisations. He is also responsible for People and People Development within the firm.

He was first appointed to the Council in 2019 and previously held the positions of secretary and vice-president on the Executive Council. He is an active member of ICAB and currently serves on its FutureTec Committee.

Skeete is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and ICAB. He served as the ACCA International Assembly Representative for Barbados from 2018 to 2024. He is also a member of ACCA Global Forum for SMEs.

Skeete expressed gratitude for his election.

“It is a profound honour to step into the role of president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, an organisation that has stood for excellence, integrity, and progress in our profession for over 50 years.

“As we navigate an increasingly dynamic and complex financial landscape, ICAB and the profession must continue to evolve—not merely to keep pace, but to take a leading role,” Skeete said. (PR)
