Minister Forde’s two-year term commenced at the recently concluded Fourth Session of the First Ministerial Council of PISLM, held in Grenada. In his acceptance speech, he thanked outgoing chairman Alfred Prospere, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Rural Development of St Lucia, for his significant contributions to the organisation. Minister Forde emphasised the need for continued regional collaboration, unity and cooperation and underscored the importance of integrating “policy, passion, dedication and vision”. Minister Forde has pledged to champion Caribbean interests on the global stage. The June 18 session brought together environment ministers from across the region to discuss strategies for advancing sustainable land and soil management in Small Island Developing States.
