Sol (Barbados) Ltd will continue its partnership with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), confirming that its SolXtend™ fuel will serve as the official fuel of Crop Over 2025.

The announcement was made during a media launch at the Sol Airport Service Station recently, where Sol’s General Manager, Roger Barrow, confirmed the company’s sponsorship for the second consecutive year.

As part of the partnership, Sol will sponsor two major events on the festival calendar: the Pic-O-De-Crop Finals on August 1 and Soca ’25, scheduled for August 5.

Sol will also award $1 000 in fuel to the winner of the 2025 Pic-O-De-Crop competition to support travel and appearances during their reign.

“For us at Sol, this partnership is about more than just celebration. It is a reflection of our longstanding commitment to supporting the cultural and economic legacy of Barbados. It’s about investing in what matters—the traditions, people and experiences that shape who we are as a nation,” Barrow said.

He added that the partnership goes beyond brand visibility. “Sol’s very purpose is to power what moves people, and I can’t think of another time of the year with more movement, energy, and excitement than the Crop Over season. That’s why this festival is the perfect fit for Sol, and why partnering with the NCF throughout this season is such a natural alignment. We’re not just sponsoring the festival, we’re fuelling the festival at every turn: from the pump to the party, from the road to the revellry!”

Sol service stations will also host performances and giveaways on select days throughout the season in collaboration with the NCF.

Festival & Events Marketing Officer at the NCF, Omar Beckles, welcomed Sol’s return, saying, “The National Cultural Foundation is proud to once again stand alongside a valued partner whose name has become synonymous with energy, reliability, and commitment to the communities it serves—SOL Barbados.

“This year, we are especially pleased to recognise SOL under the banner ‘SOL Xtend: Fuelling The Festival’—a designation that speaks not only to their product but also to their unwavering support of Barbadian culture and talent.

“SOL has returned for a second year as a sponsor, and their contributions continue to make a meaningful impact. In 2024, they came on board with generosity and enthusiasm, and this year they have extended their commitment in significant ways.”

Barrow concluded his remarks by encouraging safe driving during the festival.

“As we move through this high-energy season, we encourage everyone to move responsibly. Drive sober, stay within the speed limits and, if necessary, assign a designated driver to help ensure that you return home safely,” he said. (PR/BT)
