They defeated The St Michael School 52-49 in the final on Tuesday at the Wildey Gymnasium to dethrone last year’s winners Harrison College who lost in the semifinals. Finals and regular season MVP Number 24 Kemani Maynard of QC hit a game-high 28 points for the champions, while Tevez Bryan-Cadogan top-scored for SMS with 22 points. Ramone Edwards of SMS had 11 points. Later at the same venue, Harrison College completed their NSC Schools’ Basketball Under-17 title defence with an 84-47 victory over The St Michael School. Finals MVP Jelani Marshall of HC scored 22 points, and teammate Darren Massiah contributed 15 points. Ari Mottley-Squires hit 18 points for SMS, while schoolmate Jordan Blackman chipped in with 14.
