Sanchero O’Hensey Isaac Maxius had moments earlier pleaded guilty to unlawfully assaulting Neil Bishop and assaulting Anderson Murphy, occasioning him actual bodily harm, on July 13. Reading the facts in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Sergeant St Clair Phillips said the accused was attending Joubae at the Usain Bolt Complex, where both complainants were working security. Bishop saw Maxius wearing a ski mask and told him he was not allowed to wear it at the event, and that it would be confiscated. Maxius handed over the ski mask. Later, he went back to Bishop and asked for it to be returned, but was told that it had been disposed of. An argument ensued, during which Murphy intervened. The quarrel then turned physical, and during the struggle, Maxius bit Murphy on his left thumb. He was subdued and police were called. Asked why he wore the mask, the 29-year-old real-time analyst of Phillip’s Road, St Stephen’s Hill, stated that it was to prevent paint and dust from getting into his eyes. He added that four officers had pinned him down, and when one of them began to pull at his chin and neck as if trying to hurt him, he reacted by biting. “So you went to a paint fete and don’t want to get paint on you?! If you have an issue with these things or allergies, you should have never gone to that event,” the chief magistrate said. “You are not allowed to wear a ski mask to anything.” You Might Be Interested In Alleged burglar remanded Crime spree Francis to undergo assessment Placing Maxius on a six-month bond, Magistrate Weekes warned him that if he breached it, he would have to pay $750 immediately or he would be jailed for 90 days.
