The Neptune Road, Deacons Farm, St Michael resident is accused of robbing Margreary Ellis of a motor car, a haversack, a car seat and other items, with a total value of $17 825, on July 11; and robbing Junior Corbin of a motor car valued at $15 500 on August 1. The 32-year-old is also charged that on August 1, he robbed Kent Durant of a chain, a cell phone and four keys belonging to Dion Pilgrim, and a cell phone belonging to Rodney Williams, with a total value of $6 510. Blackman is further accused of robbing Ken Weekes of his wallet, cash, drivers licence and identification card, and a ring belonging to Emmerson Carrington, totalling $3 219.80. No pleas were taken for the indictable offences. Blackman pleaded not guilty to assaulting and resisting Police Constable Lemar Daniel on August 2. Court prosecutor Sergeant Reginald Blackman objected to him being released on bail, based on the serious nature of the offence, the strength of the evidenceโas he said there was CCTV footage of the alleged offenceโ, the accusedโs antecedents, that a firearm was allegedly used, and the fear that if granted bail, the accused could interfere with witnesses and fail to attend court. They telling lies on me. I ainโt tek nobody tings,โ he stated. Magistrate Manila Renee remanded him until September 8.
