Prime Minister Mia Mottley made the announcement on Wednesday in a national statement posted to her social media pages, confirming she received and accepted the request earlier in the day. Sutherland will remain Member of Parliament for Saint George South. โThis has been a request driven by him for personal reasons,โ Mottley said. In response, the Prime Minister has advised President Dame Sandra Mason to appoint Saint Michael West MP Christopher Gibbs as the new Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance. His appointment takes effect on Thursday.
