Remy Reco Rock of Small Land, Bridge Gap, St Michael, appeared in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court and was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence. He is alleged to have committed rape between September 1 and October 3, 2023. Several objections were raised to bail by the prosecutor, Station Sergeant St Clair Phillips, including that the strength of the evidence was compelling, that the accused man was already on bail for a similar offence, and that there were fears the witnesses could be interfered with if he were released. Magistrate Alison Burke then denied bail. Rock, who is represented by attorney Ensley Grainger, will return to court on December 18.
