A Port Security Officer was reportedly injured during the incident and subsequently received medical assistance. In a statement issued on Saturday, the Barbados Port Inc. said the passenger was pursued by officers of the Port’s Security Department and the Customs and Excise Department. The Barbados Police Service was alerted and responded to bring the situation under control. Port authorities said the incident is now formally a police matter. No further details have been provided, including the nationality of the passenger.
