(FP) FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 2K The Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has condemned an anonymous document circulating on social media, which makes allegations against former Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, Dwight Sutherland. The four-page, undated and unsigned document, purportedly from โThe Constituency of St George South and the Diasporaโ, is supposedly addressed to former President Dame Sandra Mason, Prime Minister Mia Mottley and the BLP General Secretary. However, in a statement issued on Monday, Senator Dr the Most Honourable Jerome Walcott denied that any such correspondence had been received by the prime minister or by himself in his capacity as party general secretary. Dr Walcott described the content of the letter as โabsolute rubbishโ, calling it a scurrilous and unwarranted attack on Sutherland, whom he noted is a long-standing member of the BLP and a valued parliamentary representative. โIt is to be expected that more documents such as this, penned by anonymous persons will be circulated. Barbadians should expect much more fake news in the near future.โ Sutherland resigned as Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance in September, citing personal reasons. He remains the Member of Parliament for St George South.
