Fraudster confesses

A Black Rock fraudster confessed to impersonating another man to get a national ID card, leading to his conviction, reprimand, and discharge.

Corey Athelbert Lynch of Small Land, Bridge Gap, threw in the towel and confessed to a 2022 fraud charge before Magistrate Manila Renee in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court No. 2.

He admitted that for the purpose of being registered in the national register, he impersonated Dave Stefan Omar Thorpe when he, the said accused presented false information to the Barbados Electoral and Boundaries Commission, namely one Barbados Birth Certificate in Thorpe’s name and was issued with a Barbados Identification Card bearing the name Dave Stefan Omar Thorpe’s and a national registration number.

The offence occurred on April 22, 2022.

Magistrate Renee convicted, reprimanded, and discharged him for the offence.

Lynch returned to Dodds Prison as he is facing several other pending charges.
