The children made their way through the gates of the Wildey Road school on Tuesday morning to begin the new Hilary term. The transition appeared seamless, with students waving goodbye to their parents before entering the school. Parents who spoke with Barbados TODAY generally expressed approval of the temporary move. One mother of a Class Three student remarked: “It is what it is. The ministry knows what it is doing. They cannot do any better, so we are just thankful that the children can come to school.” Another parent shared their hope for a quick adjustment: “I just hope that he will not take long to settle because we know it is a transition and children can take long to settle down, but we are hoping for the best.” Jenique Belgrave You may also like Ex-Dem Trotman wins St Michael Central nomination as Labour turns up election... 16/01/2026 Bajans turning to Canada as new US visa policy spurs uncertainty 16/01/2026 BWU calls for stronger enforcement of labour laws as it marks 85... 16/01/2026
