Speaking to the media shortly after the official opening, Williams said preparations had progressed smoothly and stakeholders were ready to deliver what he described as another strong exhibition of the island’s agricultural potential. Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture Dr Shantal Munro-Knight, used the occasion to announce the launch of a new schools-based initiative aimed at strengthening youth engagement in farming. She revealed that 13 greenhouses will be distributed to selected schools. The minister explained that the structures will allow students to cultivate specific crops in a controlled environment, giving them practical exposure to modern agricultural techniques while supporting the broader thrust towards enhanced domestic food production.
