Speaking to reporters on arrival at Parliament Buildings ahead of delivering the Budget, Straughn said the government had taken into account the evolving geopolitical climate and the issues raised by citizens. โWell, Barbados can expect some relief from the concerns that they have expressed, not only during the election, but certainly with the geopolitical issues that confront us,โ he said. โI think weโve been able to reformulate, given the short notice with respect to the changes in the geopolitical climate. So I am confident that at the end of the speech, Barbadians will be comfortable that their government has been flexible, responsible, and responding to the concerns that have been expressed.โ The presentation marks Straughnโs first Budget as Minister of Finance.
