Top Barbadian golfer Emily Odwin finished runner-up at the Briars Creek Invitational, with her Southern Methodist University Mustangs finishing in 13th place in the team standings.

ย

Odwin recorded her best collegiate finish during the two-day tournament, shooting rounds of 69 and 70.ย

ย

She birdied her last hole to move from tied for third into a share of second place, besting her previous best finish of third place.ย

ย

The impressive showing moved her team-leading season scoring mark down to 72.14, currently fifth lowest by a Mustang. Her career scoring average sits at 72.37, second best at SMU behind Mackenzie Lee.

ย

The tournament was shortened to 36 holes because of bad weather on Monday, with the final 18 holes being played the following day with the Mustangs in 11th place.

ย

The team ended in 13th place after a ten-over final day. Five ranked teams finished ahead of the Mustangs including No. 12 UCF.

ย

Next up, the Mustangs return to the course for the Charles Schwab Womenโ€™s Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth. The tournament runs March 22-24.
