Empire overtook Technique to top the standings following the completion of the fifth round of matches in the Barbados Football Association’s Division One competition.

The Bank Hall-based team thrashed Fitts Village 6-1, while Technique was also victorious, getting past Barbados Soccer Academy 2-1. Pro Shottas defeated Greens 2-0 as the division’s top three teams all secured victories.

In the evening’s remaining game, Deacons and White Hall played to a 1-1 draw.

As a result, Empire climbed to the top of the table on goal difference ahead of Technique, with both teams on 12 points. Technique, however, has a game in hand, as do third placed Pro Shottas, who have 10 points.
