Under the captaincy of Henderson ‘Duck’ Lovell, Taxi Slammers played unbeaten throughout the preliminary rounds to top their zone. They then defeated each of their opponents in the knockout stages to emerge as champions and collect the $7500 first prize. Second place and $3500 went to Black Mongoose, while Reserve Pips, who clinched third place, took home $1500. Second placed Black Mongoose. The tournament which started on March 2, featured over 100 teams competing for over $13, 000 worth of cash and prizes. In related news, the KC’s Joint tournament is underway and will be played over a three week period at venues across the island, with prize money similar to that paid out in the All Men tournament. Meanwhile, the fourth round of the Domino Association’s Three Hand League also continues at various venues across the island on Thursday.
