In a time of global unrest and personal challenges, Canon Wayne Isaacs delivered an Easter Sunday message of hope, encouraging Barbadians to embrace new possibilities.

Addressing the congregation at St Bartholomewโ€™s Anglican Church, he said the message of Easter is especially relevant amid conflicts around the world, including in Ukraine, Iran, Nigeria, and Somalia.

He urged Christians not to succumb to pessimism or โ€œdoom and gloomโ€, but to remain hopeful and focus on the positive in life.

โ€œMany of us tend to complain and to lose hope and be proud. Easter is about living hope and the understanding that heaviness may come in the night, but joy comes in the morning. Easter speaks about the new possibilities in your life, which gives us hope. So we do not have to continue in our present condition of unhappiness or despair or worry or burden,โ€ he said.

โ€œEaster tells us to throw away those negative thoughts and to live and not exist. Do not allow anyone or anything to rob you of Godโ€™s peace, joy, and happiness, which Christians are meant to enjoy on a daily basis,โ€ he advised.

Canon Isaacs encouraged people to live meaningful lives, wake each day with purpose, and pursue their dreams. He reminded parishioners that, despite feeling barren or broken at times, God provides the strength to overcome challenges and share in the risen life of Christ.
