Police said the shooting occurred around 9:10 p.m. after the man was confronted by a group of people in the vicinity of a business establishment. The Barbados Police Service said the man fled but was pursued by assailants who discharged a number of gunshots, injuring him. The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he remains under medical care. Officers attached to the Hastings/Worthing Police Station are continuing investigations into the incident. Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information that may assist to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1800-8477, Police Emergency at 211 or the Hastings/Worthing Police Station at 430-7612 or 430-7608.
