Dubbed The Ageless One, Beckles made 13 Mr Olympia appearances, won several IFBB titles and remained elite into his 60s.ย Becklesโ pro wins included the 1981 IFBB Grand Prix New England, 1982 Night of Champions, 1982 World Pro Championships, 1984 Canada Pro Cup, 1984 World Grand Prix and 1984 World Pro Championships. In one of his most high profile performances, he placed second in the 1985 edition of Mr Olympia. In his statement, Dr Sparman described Beckles as an icon of the sport. โThe bodybuilding fraternity in Barbados and across the world mourns the passing of legendary Barbadian bodybuilder Albert Beckles.
