A person of interest is assisting investigators with the probe, police said. Public Affairs and Communications Officer for the Barbados Police Service, acting Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, said officers responded to reports of the incident just before 3 p.m. โPolice operations control received a call at 2:50 p.m. today, the 19th of May 2026. That call was from an anonymous caller who stated that there was a stabbing at Haynesville, St James and a male appeared to be dead,โ Inspector Brathwaite told reporters at the scene. Police units and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the area, where emergency responders found the man unresponsive. โA medical doctor was contacted. That doctor visited the scene, examined the body, and pronounced death,โ he said.
