Fresh from a big win over Paradise last week, the St George-based team claimed another win over a top three opponent by defeating Brittons Hill United 2-1. A Marco St Hill goal put Ellerton ahead in the 62nd minute, while Tโshane Lorde equalised for Brittons Hill in the 73rd. With time running out, Ellerton captain Shakille Belle converted an 88th minute penalty to hand his side three critical points. With both sides having completed their allotted 18 games, Brittons Hill, who were runners-up in 2025, have amassed a total of 35 points to lie second behind Weymouth Wales, who have already secured a fifth straight title with a game remaining on 40 points. Ellerton are third on 34 points, but will finish the season in fourth or fifth position, depending on the outcome of Thursdayโs game between fourth placed Kickstart Rush and fifth placed Paradise. A win for either side would see them advancing to second position on 36 points, and bumping Brittons Hill United down to third. In that case, Ellerton would end the season in fourth position and the loser of tonightโs game fifth. The season ending nightcap game at 9 p.m. tonight features champions Wales and Eyreโs Meatshop Pride of Gall Hill.ย Victory would see Wales extending their lead at the top of the table, while a Gall Hill upset would catapult the Christ Church-based side into sixth position ahead of UWI Blackbirds.
