BPMSI restructures ahead of August international

Bushy Park Motorsports Inc. has moved to strengthen its leadership structure as the club prepares for the upcoming GT Challenge de las Americas in Barbados on August 29–30.

Two-time champion driver Neil Shocky Corbin has been appointed chairman, with karting figure Jamal Estwick named vice-chairman in a reshuffle aimed at sharpening preparations for the international event.

Corbin, a former Group 3B competitor and champion at the St Philip circuit in 1998 and 2000, brings extensive experience both on and off the track, having previously served in club management before stepping away from motorsport to focus on family and business.

Now keen to become more involved again, he said: “While I have not raced for many years, I have followed the sport closely and look forward to working with some old friends and leading BPMSI into the future. We have some solid plans in place to build on the arrival of the GT Challenge. Watch this space.”

Estwick is one of the founders of Track Champs Motorsport Barbados (TCMB), a mixed group of enthusiasts, some experienced, some less so, who have been honing their racing skills in regular competitions at the venue’s Karting Experience in recent years.

The experienced Kurt Seabra retains his position as BPMSI’s Competition Secretary, while immediate Past Chairman Sean Maloney is also on the Board. Three more positions remain to be filled in the coming weeks.
