A 26-year-old City general worker has been remanded after appearing before the court on a firearm charge allegedly linked to a shooting incident in Chapman Lane earlier this month.

Mahindra Alexander Thomas of Emmerton Lane, Chapman Lane, St Michael appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the No. 2 District โ€˜Aโ€™ Magistratesโ€™ Court, accused of using a firearm by discharging it whilst committing the indictable offence of affray on June 3.

No plea was taken on the indictable charge.

Thomas, who is represented by defence attorney Simon Clarke, was remanded to Dodds Prison and will return to the District โ€˜Aโ€™ Traffic Court on July 20.
