Peter Luther Jordan was fined $3 000 for unlawfully and maliciously inflicting serious bodily harm on Adrian Maynard on August 30, 2023. He had denied the more serious charge of causing serious bodily harm to Maynard with intent to do grievous harm or to maim, disfigure, or disable him. He was also ordered to pay Maynard $1 000 in compensation.ย Justice Anthony Blackman instructed Jordan to pay the fine within six months, whilst giving a three week period for the compensation to be paid in full. If he fails to pay either, he will spend 944 days in prison. Principal State Counsel Joyann Catwell and Acting Senior State Counsel Treann Knight prosecuted the case. The No. 3A Supreme Court heard that Maynard and another man were walking along Warners Road in Brittons Hill around 6 p.m. when he saw two youths approaching, both with their hands behind their backs as though concealing something. Jordan, whom he recognised, moved his hands from behind his back and Maynard saw that he was holding rocks.
