Earlier Kelia Bentham clocked 23.96 in the womenโs opening round of the 200m and did not advance, after finishing fifth in her heat. Rasheeme Griffith was fifth in semi-final one of the 400m hurdles, with his time of 50.08 seconds not being enough to see him qualify for the final. Adara Stoddard exited the womenโs 200m breaststroke swimming competition after clocking 2:46.23 to finish fifth in her opening round heat, while Jaiya Simmons did not start her 200m butterfly heat. Weightlifter Daniel Griffith was seventh in the final of the menโs 94kg event. Defending womenโs 400m champion Sada Willams begins her title defense on Thursday morning, at the semi-final stage.
