Donstone McDonald Powlett, of 6th Avenue, New Orleans, pleaded not guilty to trafficking cannabis and importing the drug on August 5 when the charges were read by acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick. The alleged drugs weighed 2.5 kilogrammes and were estimated to have a street value of $20 000. No objections were made to his release, and Powlett, who is represented by Senior Counsel Andrew Pilgrim, was granted bail of $5 000 with surety.
