A Waterford landscaper was remanded to Dodds Prison after telling a magistrate that no one was available to stand surety for him.

Rasheed Obrien Winter, 37, of Longford Place, St Michael is accused of entering a womanโ€™s house as a trespasser with intent to commit the offence of rape and having with him scissors, a weapon of offence, at the time.

No plea was taken in relation to the indictable offence, which allegedly occurred on August 30.

There was no objection to his bail, but Winter told the District โ€˜Aโ€™ Magistratesโ€™ Court No. 2 that no one was available to sign his bond.

As Magistrate Manila Renee remanded him into custody, the accused asked for his case to be fast-tracked to the High Court.

His matter continues on September 29.
