Playing in the Round of 32 at the Deighton Pa Roach facility at Bush Hall St Michael on Monday, Nurse proved to be too strong for Kerry TC Francis, as he eased to victory in straight sets 21-15, 21-17. In his first outing of the competition Nurse looked to be in great touch, but his inclination for big shots resulted in numerous unforced errors. In other results, number 14 seed Shawn Spencer defeated Seth Best in straight sets 21-17, 21-15 inside 33 minutes. Dwayne Lynch also proved too strong for Daniel King, as he defeated him in straight sets 21-14, 21-15.
