Jefferson Paul Nathaniel Ellis, of Harmony Hall, St Lawrence, Christ Church, appeared before Magistrate Jared Richards in the District โAโ Traffic Court after pleading guilty last month to assaulting his mother on September 26. The court heard that the two had lived together for more than four decades. During that time, Ellis became addicted to cannabis and alcohol and was aggressive towards his mother when intoxicated. On the day of the assault, he came home drunk, filled a saucepan with water and poured it on his mother as she sat in the living room. He also slapped her on the back of her head and neck. Less than an hour later, he poured a pot of water on her again. Apologising for his actions, Ellis said: โI ainโt throw no hot water pun she. It was pipe water. I apologise to the court. It is my fault. I should have [stayed] where I was that day instead of going home. I would like to go home and apologise to her.โ Ellis will reappear in the District โAโ Traffic Court on November 23.
