Mechanic gets bail

Christ Church resident Jason Renaldo Ashton is out on $3,000 bail with conditions.

The 31-year-old mechanic, of Medford Land, St Matthias, posted bail when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant yesterday.

He is accused of the indictable offence of having sexual intercourse with a woman on August 25, 2018 without her consent and had been on remand since last September.

His release came with orders that he
stays away from the complainant and report to the Hastings Police Station every Wednesday and Friday before noon with valid identification.

Ashton is expected to make his next appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on October 16.
