A 22-year-old from Valley Land, St George will reappear in court on July 21 on three charges.

When Rashawn Shaqur George Brathwaite appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes today he was granted $3,500 bail after the prosecutor in the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court offered no objections.

The accused pleaded not guilty to breaking the 24-hour Covid-19 curfew directive when he was outdoors on April 26 around 9:30 p.m. without a reasonable explanation.

Brathwaite also denied issuing threatening words to two people, Vincent Merritt and Colin Parris, also on April 26 with intent to cause them to believe that immediate, unlawful violence would be used against  them.

He allegedly told Merritt, “You Vincy I gine f**k up you, I gine blow off you f******g head. You think you one got a gun, I got one too. I gine f**k up you.”

To Parris he allegedly said, “ I would shoot you in you face.”

The accused’s bail came with the order that he must stay away from the complainants in the matter.

Brathwaite, who was represented by attorney-at-law Kamisha Benjamin, was also placed on a court-imposed 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily curfew.
