Edward DaCosta Gollop, of School Lane, Halls Road, St Michael is charged with possession, possession with intent to supply and having a traffickable quantity of cocaine in his possession on June 11. He has also been charged with the similar offences in connection with cannabis on the same date. Gollop pleaded not guilty to the six offences when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today, prompting the prosecutionโs objection to his bail. The Crown pointed to his antecedents for similar offences, the fact that the accused was already on bail from three different magistratesโ court and fears that he would re-offend. However, Magistrate Frederick ruled in Gollopโs favour after Queenโs Counsel Andrew Pilgrim made bail submissions on his behalf. The cases against Gollop will now continue in the District โAโ No. 2 Magistratesโ Court on October 28.
