Shafia London, Commercial Manager of Banks (Barbados) Breweries Limited said: “The Pinehill Dairy thanks everyone who stuck their spots on Calfie for its ‘Give Back Twin Packs’ campaign. “From its launch, people were very enthusiastic about helping so the cow displays fill up very quickly; and we are very happy we decided on this initiative to give back.” London made the comments as the dairy officially donated BBD. $10,000 to The Rotary Club of Barbados South’s (RCOBS) Back to School Service Project, to assist several needy families with their challenges in accessing the required tools for school. London said the “Give Back Twin packs” campaign was birthed after the PHD team saw the devastating effects that COVID-19 had on the cost of education, especially with regards to accessing supplies for homeschooling. They set a target of $10,000 to help as many families as possible. To participate in the cause, customers purchased a two per cent Reduced Fat or Whole Milk twin pack with a special necker tag featuring a sticker of a cow’s spot. In the end, the campaign received over 2,500 stickers to help them meet their goal. The RCOBS also expressed its appreciation to those who participated and will now use the donation to work with The Child Care Board to provide funds to various households for school fees, uniforms, books, and other educational expenses. “The campaign may be over but The Pinehill Dairy will always be committed to caring about families. Not just with our products, but with our actions too,” said London. She encouraged persons to contribute to The RCOBS’ still ongoing project and says the dairy looks forward to executing this back to school special again next year.
