It is alleged that the 45-year-old labourer stole a motorcar belonging to Winslow Holder on September 10. He was remanded until October 13 on that offence which is alleged to have been committed in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction. The accused was also ordered to appear in the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court on September 28 on the charge that he damaged a motorcar belonging to Sonia Reece on September 11 without lawful excuse or was reckless as to whether such property would be damaged. Harewood is also alleged to have driven the vehicle along Groves Road, on the same day, when he did not have a driver’s licence and failed to draw the motorcar to the left side of the road and stop at the sound of a police siren. Sergeant Paul Prescod objected to the accused’s bail based on his antecedents, fears that he would re-offend if granted bail and based on the strength of the evidence.
