Update: Police identify the body found at Tent Bay, St Joseph

Police have identified the body of a man found at Tent Bay beach this morning.

He is Kenrick Welch, 60, of Waterford, St Michael, Police spokesman Station Sergeant (Ag) Michael Blackman has disclosed.

Welch was reported missing by a family member on Monday.

Blackman said police at the District “F”/Belleplaine Station received a report around 10:30 a.m. that the naked body of a male was seen lying among the rocks at the beach.

Police arrived at the scene around 11:10 a.m., and they found the lifeless body.

A medical doctor later confirmed death at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information that could assist investigations to contact Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS) or the District “A” Police Station at 430-7242 0r 430-7246.
