A man accused of rape and theft pleaded not guilty to both charges when he was arraigned in the No. 2 Supreme Court today.
Mario Rommell Neptune, of Spooner’s Hill, St Michael, pleaded not guilty to raping a female on April 15, 2017. He also denied stealing a motorcar valued $28,500 belonging to Rommell Jones, on November 11, 2010.
Justice Randall Worrell set April 4, 2022 as the trial date for the rape case, while the trial for the theft will commence on September 19 that same year.
Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis is appearing on behalf of the Crown while Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley and Justin Leacock are representing Neptune.
