In an update, acting Station Officer Mervin Small said the missing person was on a tour at the cave. Small said fire officers are within the mouth of the cave awaiting assistance. Acting Station Officer, BFS, Mervin Small “We have reached out to the Barbados Defence Force for some assistance in search and rescue in the cave in an area where there is a severe amount of water and we don’t have the capacity at this time. “The water is significant enough to hinder our crews from advancing without the necessary equipment,” he said.
