Excited revellers decked out in colourful costumes showed they were clearly in a party mood as they danced to the sweet sounds of soca on the new route. Bands will parade from Warrens, travel along the ABC Highway to the Emancipation Statue, then return along the highway and through Waterford to the National Stadium. The first band to hit the road was Aura followed by Colorz. Some revellers with Aura told Barbados TODAY that they could not wait for this day and they are happy to be on the road. She hails from Texas and said that she’s anticipating great vibes.  Welcome Stamper Catherine Beasley was equally delighted to be on the road. Beasley, a member of the Hijack says she has fallen in love with the island and its national dish Cou Cou. Another reveller with Hijack medical student Lauren who is from Los Angeles told Barbados TODAY she is very happy to free up and take part in the jump for the first time.
