They are to safely assist students in crossing the road. The beacons will flash during peak school drop-off and pick-up times between the hours of 7 am and 9 am, and 2 pm and 4 pm. Motorists are encouraged to slow down within the school’s zone, especially during peak traffic times and to pay close attention to the pedestrians desiring to cross the road.
