The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) advises sea bathers and other marine users to exercise extreme at beaches, particularly along the west coast this weekend.
A high surf information statement issued by the BMS said the “increase in surf activity is as a result of large northerly swells propagating into our marine area. The surf along the west coast should begin to increase from tonight, Friday 16th, February 2024 until Monday 19th, February 2024.”
The BMS advises the public to ensure there is an on-duty lifeguard if venturing into the water and secure objects that can be swept away by the breaking wave activity.
