There was a burst of energy from the St George Lions 4-H Club at Agrofest.
The young members had all the right elements of a good salesperson. They were filled with positive energy, used catchy words to entice one to buy, had the right amount of confidence and were well-spoken.
Tahir Cumberbatch exhibited at Agrofest for six years.
Asked what he enjoyed about the annual exhibit, he said: “I love that Agrofest has everything for everyone.
If you like spicy food, they got it at Agrofest, if you like meat they got it at Agrofest, if you like veggies, they go it at Agrofest. Anything you want they have at Agrofest.”
The 4-H Lions sold salted popcorn, pink popcorn and caramel popcorn and pink lemonade.
“Make sure you come and get some,” Cumberbatch added.
His schoolmates Demar-J Benn and Lamara Hoyte also said they enjoyed the agriculture expo.
“I like that there are things for kids and not only things for adults. I also like that if you want anything to eat or drink you can come to Agrofest and find it,” said Benn, adding that sales were going good.
“I like the variety of stuff that is on sale that you can choose from,” said Hoyte.
Meanwhile, Cumberbatch said the proceeds made would go toward the development of the club at his primary school — St George Primary School.
“And if you can’t make a purchase you can make a kind donation,” he said.
