She clocked 49.83 in the competitive event won by the Dominican Republic’s Marileidy Paulino with a record time of 48.17 seconds. Prime Minister Mia Mottley in a message to Williams on Instagram urged the athlete to hold her head up high. She said Sada can count herself as one of the best 400m runners in the world. Mottley added that Sade’s historic run in Paris cannot be diminished and underscored that she has made her country proud. Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser won the silver medal with 48.53 seconds and Poland’s Kaczmarek won bronze with a time of 48.98 seconds.
