CIBC has donated $8 000 which will be deposited into a new account created for beneficiaries of the government’s One Family Programme.

Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey says this system will ensure that assistance goes directly to the families participating in the programme.

Just under 1 000 families are already registered.

The donation was made to Humphrey in the car park of the ministry’s office in Warrens, where food and toiletries are being collected for families in need, as part of International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
