Police Operations Control received a report around 1:36 a.m. of a man lying in the area. Initial investigations indicate that Renville had been at a nearby bar where he was involved in a verbal altercation. He subsequently left the establishment, after which gunshots were heard. Police responded and medical assistance was sought, but a doctor pronounced death at the scene. Investigations are continuing.
