Jason Robert Reginald Thorpe, 44, of Pine Hill Road pleaded guilty to having, trafficking, intending to supply, and the cultivation of cannabis. The offences occurred on April 16. The court heard that police found three glass jars and a small transparent bag containing the controlled drug at his residence while executing a search warrant. Four plants in pots were also found during a search of the yard. The estimated weight of the cannabis was 0.64 kilogrammes, with a street value of $2 560. Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick convicted, reprimanded and discharged Thorpe on the possession, trafficking and cultivation charges, and fined him for intent to supply. The $1 500 was due immediately, failing which Thorpe would have spent three months in prison.
