A 66-year-old man is dead after being struck by a motor van on the Princess Alice Highway.
Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector (ag) Rodney Inniss said the incident occurred about 8:45 p.m. yesterday just outside the compound of the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex.
Inniss said the deceased man has no fixed place of abode.
The police spokesman said the man was said to have been crossing the road when the motor van, driven by a 42-year-old male of Newcastle, St. John was travelling to The City from the direction of the Bridgetown Port when they became involved in a collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motor van was unhurt, however police investigations are ongoing.
Lawmen are making a public appeal for anyone who can positively identify this individual to contact Central Police Station at 4307227 or Police Emergency 211 or any police station.
