Speaking Out #BTSpeakingOut – Catch-22 situation by Barbados Today Traffic 14/07/2021 written by Barbados Today Traffic 14/07/2021 1 min read A+A- Reset Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 274 Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed by this author are their own and do not represent the official position of the Barbados TODAY Inc. by Roderick P. Harris Barbados is a very conservative society. It can also be a very silly one. And no situation bears this out more evidently than this questionable reluctance of authorities to identify where clusters of COVID-19 cases actually spring up. If some people are making an argument for vaccinations to the point of a PR campaign and even positing the idea of compulsory vaccinations, why are we so secretive about the exact location of clusters. What about this greater good argument some are using to promote compulsory vaccinations? I have no doubt that the Minister of Health not revealing the cluster in town, had nothing to with it being in his constituency. But surely our political leaders must realise that they protect more citizens by alerting them of where a possible danger is than trying to protect the locale of where that danger may be.
