Fire at BNOCL compound

The Barbados National Oil Company Ltd (BNOCL) says quick action prevented a fire at its compound Saturday morning from spreading.

At 1:17 am, the Security Officer on duty notified the BNOCL Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality Department of a fire on the compound in an area where equipment is stored.

The Barbados Fire Service was immediately informed and two tenders were dispatched.  A team from BNOCL assisted the Fire Service in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to nearby materials.

The BNOCL expresses its appreciation to the officers of Amalgamated Security Services, the Barbados Fire Service and the internal BNOCL team for their prompt response.
