The closure was announced although the main building where locals and visitors go to do their research was not affected by the blaze. โThe department apologises for any inconvenience this closure may cause and thanks members of the public for their patience and understanding,โ a brief statement from the Barbados Government Information Service said. Meanwhile, the neighouring Animal Control Centre at the Lazaretto, Black Rock, which was temporarily closed after the fire, reopened on Wednesday.
